God's Blessings on your week!
All Staff
The cleaning crew decided that since the elevator was not operable on Thursday, they would come and clean on Saturday.
Hourly staff will be recording their hours in our new application called Procare. We will begin the year having all our Before and After Care workers using this for signing in. By September 1, all hourly employees must use this system to clock their hours. Please watch your St. Paul email for more details.
Denise Seyler and Joy Salzwedel have agreed to help with lunch. We will also be using disposable trays and utensils to start the year. Here is the tentative plan to start Wednesday.
10:15 - Zandalee and Lisa will check the food and make appropriate documentation
11:10 - Joy Salzwedel arrives and works to assemble trays for 3K/4K.
11:15 - Denise and Joy begin serving Lunch to 5K students
11:50 - Joy leaves; Rhiana will take over assisting Denise in serving
12:40 - Lunch Periods End
We have a candidate for the lunch worker position, but they are available to interview during the second week of school.
I was informed on Thursday evening that a significant number of things in our furnace room "storage" will need to be moved by the end of the day on Monday. The plan right now will be to move things into the hallway. We are trying to come up with a plan to make that happen.
This a reminder to complete your
mandated reporter training. All school employees are required to complete this training per Wis. Stat. sec. 118.07(5).
Faculty
I have the
Bible Verse Rotation created for the first month of school. I will model what to expect for the first three days. We will follow the Morning Devotion printed on page 152 in the red hymnal.
As a reminder, please review the
school schedules for recess and lunch. Change the highlight from yellow to green if it is correct.
During our meeting with Averill Anderson last week, they shared information about a program called TPA Stream which allows them to pull your EOBs directly so you do not have to send them in. They emailed me two handouts about the program; you can find those
here and
here. If you are interested in participating in this program, email Shannon@averillanderson.com to let her know.
We will be adding all faculty to Procare. This will allow us to better track completed training. You may receive an email requesting that you create an account. If you have questions, please see me.
SOAR
Remember to refer to your Classroom Community Plans for starting the year off teaching and practicing our SOAR expectations.
Professional Development Plan for September 26th: (2:15pm - 4:45pm)
1) Read the Foreword and Welcome of Habits of Highly Effective Teachers and come ready to discuss in the large group.
Think about:
*What jumped out at you from these sections? Why?
*What kid(s) in your classroom community could be "climate changers" by the end of the first quarter if you have a plan for helping them grow and for connecting with them consistently and authentically? These are often the kids that have a mindset struggle and repeat undesirable behaviors over and over that derail learning for themselves and others. They have the potential to be kids that are hard to like after awhile if we don’t intentionally intervene. They also have the potential to make amazing progress in a short amount of time and propel your classroom community forward in the right direction.
2) In small grade band groups, begin working on personalizing your MDPs and reflecting on and updating your Classroom Community Plans with specific plans for your “climate changer(s)”.
3) In the large group, discuss and draft vision statements that go along with our mission statement.
