Weekly Update for February 26, 2024

All Staff

• BOTR

• Rooms 130, 131, 225, and 226 will receive new door handles matching the new addition. The plan will move toward fully reaching the latest addition in keys and handles. You can find information about the door handle replacement priority here. Please let me know if you have any questions or wish to see a priority change.

• The target for conditional occupancy of the second floor is March 8

• A security system switchover will occur from February 27-29. I will be able to share more about this when the technicians arrive. We are changing vendors but should still be able to use our same fobs and key cards.

Faculty

• Here is the 02.29.2024 Eagle. Please make sure all updates are completed by Wednesday at 2 PM

• We have our PD Meeting on Tuesday, February 24, starting at 2:30.

SOAR

I planned to have PBIS in the gym on the 28th, but I just realized that won’t work, as it is musical week & there is an afternoon field trip for 3-8! Plan an activity in your rooms or partner with another classroom to do something simple together, if you’d like. Our focus for the month is showing God’s love to others because of who God is and who we are in Christ, not because others have earned or deserved it. Please let me know if you’d like my help and/or support with planning or facilitating. Thanks!

• Cindy Ramos will be joining our Before School Childcare team.

• If you are planning to come to the Winter Carnival, please sign up, even if you don’t think you can help at a station. This will help us better understand who is actually planning to be there. You can indicate Registration/Greeter and say that you plan to mingle with current and future families.

SOAR

PBIS is in the gym on the 21st and the 28th. We will be focusing on “Forever Faithful in his Love”. He abounds in love and faithfulness and he faithfully proclaims his love. Look for plans in the whole school PBIS document by Monday of each week. Thanks!

• Second Floor Punchlist took place on February 7

• First Floor Punchlist takes place on February 22

• The BOCE had a meeting on February 7 to discuss child care. The following decisions were made:

• Brian Zwieg will start supporting the morning childcare program Tuesdays (may be also able to support Thursday and will check) starting February 13th, short-term, to alleviate Zandalee to cover only Thursday and Friday each week.  

• Other members of the BOCE may be able to help in the future.

• A letter will be drafted by Brian Zwieg (sent to BOCE for review prior) and then sent out to parents via Talking Points and the Eagle newsletter the week of 2/11/2024, stating the morning childcare program will be paused starting Monday, March 18th, unless enough slots are hired to cover each day.  Recruiting for these slots will continue.

• Four students from FVL will be onsite on 2/14 as part of the FVL Volunteer day. I plan to have them work on hymnal bookmarks and better organizing the Foss Kits downstairs.

SOAR

PBIS is in classrooms next Wednesday, the 14th. Use the time for your Valentine’s Day celebration or choose a lesson/activity that helps your students grow. Please let me know if you need any help with ideas and/or planning. Thanks!
