Weekly Update for January 29, 2024

    • Outside Masonry starts up again next week.

    • The earliest that they will be done is now estimated at March 1, 2024

  • We will have a School Handbook meeting on January 30th at 6:30 PM. Everyone is invited to attend. Faculty may make comments on this document.


Faculty

  • Here is the 02/01/2024 Eagle. Please make sure all updates are completed by 2 pm on Wednesday.

  • Here is a tentative plan to accomplish summative evaluations by the end of the school year. Please feel free to provide feedback.


SOAR

PBIS is in classrooms on the 31st, as basketball players and siblings will be leaving early to get to Weyauwega on time. Follow up on your goal setting or take the next steps with your students. Please let me know if I can help in any way!

Weekly Update for January 22, 2024

 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107:8-9

We are thankful for God's benevolence and beneficence. Truly, we are blessed!

All Staff

  • BOTR

    • 2nd-floor flooring has begun and should conclude soon

    • Most ceilings are in

    • I am working with the committee on move-in dates and access control systems for the addition.

  • Next week, on Tuesday, we will have our Early Release/Professional Development

  • At this time it appears that we will have a School Handbook meeting on January 30th at 6:30 PM. Everyone is invited to attend. Faculty may make comments on this document.

  • At the Church Council meeting, it was shared that December contributions were $109,000. We give thanks to a truly gracious Lord who continues to bless us.


Faculty

  • Here is the 01/25/2024 Eagle. Please make sure all updates are completed by Wednesday at 2 pm

  • FVL Schools is moving forward with the implementation of Amplify. I will discuss this further at our business meeting in February.

  • We will have our Professional Learning on Tuesday starting at 2:30 PM.

SOAR

PBIS is in classrooms on the 24th and the 31st. With two weeks in a row, it is a great opportunity to set goals as a class, as individuals, or both. Please let me know if you’d like to discuss your plans or would like ideas for how to go about setting goals with your students.

We also have a BASIC group activity planned for the morning of February 7th. We will need about 70 minutes for the activity (10 minutes for an introduction in the gym and 60 minutes for 3 rotations with transition time). I will ask for your thoughts on our start time, activities, and station locations soon. Thanks!

Weekly Update for January 15, 2024

 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11

It certainly was an interesting week. We know that God has a plan, even if that plan might not be what we think it .

BOTR

  • Progress continues, including sinks and toilets in the 3K-5K rooms and ceiling grids in the Lower Level Ministry Space


On January 9, members of the FVL Schools Executive Committee met to discuss the list of candidates, provided by the Commission for Lutheran Schools, for the Executive Director role. In a unanimous vote, the committee issued the Call to Mr. James Brandt. Mr. Brandt currently serves as Academic Dean at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Please pray for Mr. Brandt as he now deliberates his two Calls.


Faculty

Weekly Update for January 8, 2024

  • Flooring on the second floor has been delayed


Faculty

  • The 01/11/2024 Eagle

  • We will “mix” our morning groups on Tuesday and Friday

    • Most will be in a group to discuss 7 & 8 grade students

    • 3K-1 and 3-5 will meet

  • On Tuesday, we will have our Faculty Bible Study

  • We will study Chapters 5 & 6 in our book study on January 23rd.


SOAR

  • It’s a new year!!! Don’t forget that your students will need to go slow to go fast. Take the time to reteach expectations, problem solve as a classroom community, and discuss SOAR, growth mindset, and how to grow as learners together. 

  • I adjusted the PBIS schedule for January, moving the classroom date to the 24th since I will not be here that day. I will facilitate PBIS in BASIC groups in the gym on the 10th, the 17th, and the 31st. Our theme for January is Forever Faithful in Guiding Our Lives
