Weekly Update for March 27, 2023

Construction continues this week. The current plan is to begin pouring foundations this week. That may change depending on weather or other delays.

Faculty

Linda Baumann has requested that each faculty member answers this question.

The current plan to assist with the completion of the prayer stones will include students going working on them during out BASIC time on Wednesday. Please plan to dismiss students to their BASIC groups at 2:25. Students will be encouraged to draw their favorite Bible symbol, write their favorite Bible word, or write their favorite Bible verse on the stones. Stones will be collected after the activity. At this time, we are planning to have students work in their BASIC groups in classrooms. We will be planning to drop the stones into the foundation  of the new building at some point (TBD). Thank you for your flexibility with this. Like all things related to construction there are a lot of moving parts.

Please be sure to thoroughly read Jim Gamble's email regarding construction updates. Specifically note that work on the gym door will continue. When I get an updated timeline on that, I will let you know.

I have begun work on a comprehensive school calendar for next year. Feedback is always welcome as we look to set dates for our events.

Faculty

Linda Baumann will in to observe math classrooms on Monday.

We have been asked to have our students participate in a Prayer Stones activity by the Built on the Rock team. I am working on getting the logistics of what this will look like and the timeline. When I have that information, I will share it with you.

Easter for Kids - School rooms, including the Activity Center will be utilized during the Easter for Kids event Easter Egg Hunt. There will be an adult monitoring these areas, but please be certain to secure anything that you have concerns with or even move it to the back of the room.

If you plan to be in the building during Spring Break, please use the playground parking area, Blue Sky will be using the other parking lot to stage equipment and vehicles.

Congratulations to our 3K-2nd grade students and staff for a wonderful performance on Friday night. What a blessing to see our talented kids performing.

Heavy equipment should start arriving next week to begin digging for our Built on The Rock project.  

Faculty

FVL Schools will be launching an Instructional Coaching Network. At this time St. Paul will not be participating in the program. I have shared with FVL Schools that we may consider this in the future, but we will not be doing this for the 2023-2024 school year.

PTO has put forward the idea of creating Classroom Baskets to sell at our Spring Drama production. Here is a tentative plan for the creation and use. This idea has been brought forward to the Stewardship Committee for review.
