All Staff

At our Thursday Built on the Rock meetings additional details related to construction were provided. At this time, temporary fencing will be placed on the north side of the building (along Chicago St), along the west side of the building between us and First United Church of Christ, and along the line where the the bump out of the new construction begins (think everything to the right of the west Activity Center Entrance as you exit the building). By February 27, the plan is to block off the current west Activity Center Entrance. You can find a copy of the drawing that was shared here.

Jill will be out on Friday. Brittany and I will do our best to cover, but please be patient with us.

The BOCE will be holding a budget meeting on Wednesday, February 1 with the goal of setting tuition for the 2023-2024 school year.

Faculty

There will be a School Leadership team meeting today from 3:45 to 4:45 all faculty are welcome to attend.

All Staff

Most of the Paper Towel Dispensers have been installed. The new Toilet Paper Dispensers are in the common use bathrooms (2nd Floor, Activity Center, Fellowship Hall). They will need a special drill bit to install the dispensers in the 3K/4K Room. The remaining dispensers will be installed when we run out of cored roll toilet paper.

Blue Sky has notified us that they are planning to move up the start date for excavation. When additional details become available, I will let you know.

Faculty

I received additional information on the June FVL Schools PD.

• Monday will be a PreK – 12 Learning Institute.  For K-12 there will be three CESA 6 trainers coming in that will focus on highly instructional strategies in the morning.  In the afternoon they will break up the groups and specifically look at i-Ready data at the specific levels into which the teachers were grouped. This will be district level data.
• Tuesday will be PLC Day.
• Wednesday will be a workshop on nonviolent crisis intervention system.  Gretchen and Rachel have been asked to attend.

Aaron Wellhoefer will be in a couple of days after school this week to install the Paper Towel Dispensers. Art will be in on Saturday, January 21 with Darren Reschke to work on installing the new Toilet Paper Dispensers.

Thank you to everyone who helped out last week in completing our ACCESS testing. We were able to finish all testing on Friday morning.

Robinson Heating will be on site on Wednesday, January 18. Gas will be shut off from 8:00 - 10:30 while a new meter is hooked up. I have been told that this should not impact the heat in the building. 

Our new mascot has been ordered and should arrive in a couple of days.

The first meeting of the School Handbook Committee will take place on January 18 at 6:30 PM. If you are interested in participating in this activity, please email Brian Zwieg at education@stpaulgreenbay.com.

Weekly Update for January 2, 2023

    

I hope you had a wonderful and refreshing break celebrating the birth of Our Savior!

Eleven Paper Towel Dispensers were installed over the break. Students may need a little tutorial, but the 4K kids who were here over break seemed to be able to figure them out. We still have a few to go, but simply ran out of time.

The new banners are up in the gym and look really nice.

The janitorial closets were cleaned (sort of) and I pulled all the products out of them (for the most part). All sanitary products (paper, soap, sanitizer) should now be located in the boys restroom near the activity center.

We had the new toilet paper dispensers come in. Those have been placed near the respective main use bathrooms. Standard bathrooms will have vertical dispensers and handicap accessible bathrooms will have horizontal. These will be installed as time permits.

We will begin ACCESS Testing on January 9th. This will require pulling our identified Multi-Lingual students for testing. I will be providing additional details to teachers on Friday.

St. Paul will host the Green Bay/Kewaunee Spelling Bee on February 15. You can click on the document to see more details. I will be speaking to teachers about this on Friday.

A staff member share the TundraTales Reading Program with me. It looks interesting, but if we are going to pursue this, we will need to identify a coordinator.

On February 2-3 we will be hosting WELS Lutherans for Life as they talk with our 5-8 students about Healthy Choices. Here is a parent letter that will go out next week. The tentative schedule will be as follows:

2/2 1:15-2:15 - Grades 7/8

2/2 2:15-3:15 - Grades 5/6

2/2 5:30-6:15 - Optional Parent Meeting
